Techno Heat, Lucia and Waterfall are a new lobelia series well worth
considering for your hanging baskets or hanging planters
Native to Southern Africa, these new varieties Lucia and Waterfall
are more heat tolerant blooming from spring well into midsummer or even
longer
The Waterfall Blue and the new Techno Heat Electric Blue are riveting
iridescent color.
Lobelia needs plenty of sun to bloom its best. If you are in a hotter
climate opt for hanging your planters or baskets where they get morning
sun and mid-afternoon shade.
When choosing your lobelias ensure you opt for the “trailing” vs. the
“upright” variety.
When planting Lobelia in hanging baskets and hanging planters ensure
your basket or planter has plenty of holes for drainage. Then select a
good, lightweight, airy potting soil
You will need to water daily as the temperatures start to warm up.
Frequent watering will leach the nutrients, meaning you need to
fertilize more often.
Use controlled-release or slow release granules according to label
directions or water soluble fertilizer that you mix. |
